About Our Pork

Our pigs are raised on pasture with no added hormones. Just like our cattle, most of the pigs in our care are never given antibiotics. However, if an animal becomes sick and our veterinarian recommends an antibiotic treatment, that is the humane thing to do. If antibiotics are given to an animal, there are strict withdrawal periods we follow to ensure the antibiotics clear the animal’s system before they go to market.

Purchasing Bulk Pork

We sell custom cut half or whole pigs once a year in the fall (ready for pickup before Thanksgiving). We are currently taking orders for FALL 2024 BULK PORK. Click here to make a deposit through our online store, or email us at pasturegrazed@gmail.com to inquire.

How bulk purchases work 

On average, a half pig has a hanging weight of 110 lbs. Once we drop the animals off, you will work directly with the butcher at Eickman’s Processing to customize how your pork is cut. When your meat is ready, you will pick up your order from Eickman’s Processing in Seward, IL.

Bulk Prices

You will get two invoices. Here’s why:

  1. Pay the farmer: We charge $3.50/lb for the pork (hanging weight, average is 110 lbs per half). We take a $100 non-refundable deposit to hold your order and send a final invoice in December once the butcher has your pig and we have an exact final weight.
  2. Pay the butcher: Processing (cutting, freezing & packaging fee) is paid separately to Eickman’s Processing upon pickup. This cost varies depending on your cut preferences.
